Second leg of Rally Argentina is finished and same looks the fight for victory in 6th event of Open RBR-LT WRC 2019. 51 Participant (29 without Super Rally) continuing the Argentinian challenge and two Plosih drivers found out their relationship. Looks like Jurek Bogdanowicz gonna take his first points this season in a shortest way - winning a rally.
After first leg the gap between Jurek and Tomek was just 8.33sec and the start of second leg looked promising to Tomek. He lost first stage to Jurek by 3.05sec, but won the second by a very similar amount of time (3.15sec) and little bit cut the gap to 8.23sec. However the 10th stage was Tomek's grave. Current championship and WRC 2 leader had a big crash, here is the words after second leg finish from Tomek itself,- "Big crash on SS10, on these bumps behind first split, my setup is probably too low. From now on I'm just cruising to the finish. So not much more I can do but generally good to see clean fights in this rally without any too light rockets (talking about possible illegal Anton Kochetkov's car's weight in previous rallies) this time. (smiles)". So after Tomek's car was damaged badly he reached the service already loosing over a minute to Jurek and didn't managed to reach a stage win after his car was repaired, meanwhile Jurek took another three stage wins after service and finished second leg in first place with a lead of 1min and 37.78sec. Alex Karkach drove really fast on second leg and jumped from 6th place to 3rd. Russian was 20sec down against Libor Tomecek in 3rd after first leg, but now he is just 14sec behind Tomek Wach in 2nd. Also not far away from Alex is Juan Marzoa and Libor Tomecek who is desperate to bring his 3rd place back. Juan and Libor holds 4th and 5th places with just 22-23sec behind Alex. The last day could still bring a big rotations in top positions.
WRC 2 classification leader Jan Gais was very lucky on the second leg. Slovakian didn't won a single stage but managed not only to stay in first place but also to increase his advantage. Hasse Onkamo was killing it on the second leg by taking four stage wins and two times brought his Opel Corsa S2000 in top 3 at the stages and was just 20.91sec behind Jan before last stage of the leg. And You probably imagine what happened to Swede, ditch and roll over. Luckily everything was OK with Hasse's Opel and he could finish. He dropped to 3rd place but just 1.91sec down on Michal Szparski who is in 2nd. So all the chances to get back to 2nd place is in S2000 driver hands. Next WRC 2 drivers are almost two minutes behind the top 3.
Oscar Estévez is back on track with all 7 stage wins on second leg and again leading WRC 3 guard. Remus Diaconescu couldn't handle such a max attack drive from Oscar so he dropped to 2nd place and now is loosing 29.38sec. Rafal Majka was a good competitor to the same Remus by beating Romanian in five stages. Unfortunately Rafal lost much time in first leg stages so he got closer to Remus just by 6 seconds and only a big mistake of Romanian driver could help Rafal to climb higher.
Intrigue for Rally Argentina winner is very low but top 5 positions is a real mystery and we gonna have a fight to the last kilometers in WRC 2 and WRC 3 top's. Have a nice time!
